It\u2019s a very straight-forward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meditationmag.com\/how-to-meditate\/breathing-meditation-buddhas-original-recipe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">no-nonsense type of meditation<\/a>\u2026 just focus on the breathing, concentrate the mind, become still and quiet. Nothing overly \u201cspiritual\u201d or \u201cwoo-woo.\u201d Coming from a nihilist\/atheist background, I liked it that way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But eventually I found myself in India. I got smacked in the face by the Hindu spiritual traditions, which have a richness that I couldn\u2019t have imagined beforehand. There\u2019s a love there, and a mysticism, that I hadn\u2019t found in the forest monasteries of Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.meditationmag.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/IMG_3319-copy.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.meditationmag.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/IMG_3319-copy.jpg\" alt=\"kevin ellerton chakra meditation in nepal\" class=\"wp-image-1255\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ananda Mandala Chakra Meditation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Try this meditation for yourself if you want to actually experience your chakras, and get a sense for what Kundalini Awakening is all about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Before You Start The Meditation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-purple-color\">It helps to have a basic knowledge of the chakras before you start<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I would recommend studying this chart for a few minutes before playing the Ananda Mandala video (below). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don\u2019t worry, you don\u2019t need to remember everything from this chart before starting the meditation! But having at least a basic knowledge of the chakras will help you remain oriented (and avoid feeling confused) during the meditation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.meditationmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/chakra-chart-ananda-mandala-meditation.webp\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.meditationmag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/chakra-chart-ananda-mandala-meditation.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-41678\"\/><\/a><figcaption>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/7chakrastore.com\/blogs\/news\/chakra-chart\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">7chakrastore.com<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-purple-color\">Ananda Mandala meditation is very intense<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ananda Mandala is a very intense meditation. Your body might feel weird. Muscles may cramp up.\u00a0You <em>will<\/em> get dizzy. The intensity will probably scare you. Just keep going through the fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-purple-color\">Ananda Mandala meditation is best when shared<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ananda Mandala meditation activates all the chakras, including the heart (love) and throat (communication) chakras.\u00a0In so doing, this meditation gives you a powerful opportunity to share your experience with others. If you feel like laughing or crying during (or after) the meditation, don\u2019t hold it in. Let it out. If you feel a desire to speak, speak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most powerful way to practice this meditation is in a group, sitting in a circle, holding hands. Alternatively, it can be practiced with a partner, sitting facing each other, holding hands. If other meditators are not available to practice with, Ananda Mandala meditation can be done by yourself as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are practicing this meditation alone and you want to communicate something, feel free to post a comment below this article \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">WARNING<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">This meditation is an intense workout for the respiratory and nervous systems, and can create very rapid changes in states of consciousness. It is not suitable for: pregnant women, people with respiratory or cardiac issues, and novice meditators.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">If you\u2019re new to meditation, I\u2019d recommend practicing a gentler form (like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meditationmag.com\/blog\/breathing-meditation-buddhas-original-recipe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">watching the breath<\/a>) before you start with Ananda Mandala. You\u2019ll need to have a good measure of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meditationmag.com\/blog\/what-is-meditation-and-how-does-it-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">equanimity<\/a> in order to handle some of the states that you will go through in this meditation.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Kundalini Awakening is no joke.
